the next project: batman
Since my quest to become the next Apprentice has (publicly) come to an end, I’ve decided to begin my next quest: to become Batman. To aid me in my goal, I spent some solid time this weekend watching Batman Begins for the 10th or so time. (Another highly productive weekend). In addition to all the amazing useful things that I learned in my pursuit of becoming Batman (like this weekend, it sank in that I might need to find a few billion dollars. or at least that would help)– I had an observation which I had to share:
Katie Holmes plays the character, Rachel Dawes in the movie. The character Rachel is the most annoying human being. Ever. In the opening seen where she’s 6, she’s not too bad. But once Katie Holmes takes over as the actress, the character is a whining, judgmental piece of work. She judges poor Bruce Wayne every single time she can and speaks with such condescension, I think she’s set a new world record. I’ve made a mental note that when I finally become Batman, I will not have a character like Rachel around. Nope. Definitely not.
And, yes, I am sorry for having wasted the last 2 minutes of your life with this entry.
Batman out.

It didn’t take 2 minutes, but I have to go and analyze it now, thanks Surya

Surya, You DO know that Superman is the only REAL superhero right?
Batman is just Bruce Wayne dressed up, just like Spiderman is just Peter Parker dressed up.
On the other hand - Superman is real, and his DISGUISE is Clark Kent.

Ah…a worthy discussion! haha.
I think you’re right in that Superman has to “pretend” to be a normal human, and so therefore his mask is “Clark”. But then again, really, is there a different personality between the two? Both Superman and Clark Kent are both goody-goodies. Really, they are the same…other than the glasses and the Big S on the chest.
With Batman, I’d say (as they always make allusions to in the comics and a little in the movie) that Bruce Wayne is totally the mask as well. He acts the part of the playboy who is carefree and an idiot billionaire. But he really is a pathologically intense guy who wants to do nothing with every second of his day but avenge his parents death. That’s who “he” is…and that’s Batman.
I hope this proves once and for all that I’m still the loser 10 year-old that I always was!
