Diamonds are only one of the few resources for which Multi-National Companies have been exploiting Africa, with the tacit support of Governments. Rich in natural resources, Africa has a few centuries back attracted the Europeans and now the US Comapnies and the government.. The first of the many resources that were plundered from Africa with brutal force was human resources to be used as slaves in the US to boost farm production. The trend continues with Pharmaceutical companies conducting unauthorized clinical trials to munitions companies selling deadly arms to rival groups to gain leverage over natural resources with complete disregard to human life..

What is happening to Iraq for its oil now has been happening to Africa for the past four centuries. It is only the awakening of the people of the countries that are exploiting Africa can put an end to this. Hope the book and the film will at least make the American readers pause and ponder.
