internets coverage of the VP debate.

Since the post on RNC coverage via my friends’ facebook status was such a big hit…here ya go.

Thanks to my friends for being so damn clever!

A is thinking it’s time to get out the wallet for Obama, the alternative is just too scary.
B is a maverick! We are all mavericks!!!
C is CBS: 46% of uncommitted voters who watched the debate tonight thought Joe Biden was the winner. 21% thought Sarah Palin won.
D wonders why did it take 25 interviews to join Goldman but it takes only 1 interview to be nominated for Vice President of the United States.
E was switching back between baseball and debates and is reassured that baseball is America’s game!
F is so glad Joe smoked it!
G Sarah Palin winked at me 5 times during the debate…you betcha.
H does NOT think Palin fell on her face but I think it is a shame that that is the bar for Palin! We can do better - Obama/ Biden ‘08.
I believes Biden won over all those undecided independents. Palin only re-energized a base that lost faith.
J is um that VP debate was kind of odd.
K is wondering what debate were the new commentators watching i mean what do you mean… booking my tickets out the country.. bc this is just ridiculous.
L A lot disappointed that Palin did well. I was in the mood for some good comedy.
M is tired of political candidates dancing around questions.
N I’m afraid Palin was able to stick to her talking points and reach out to middle america enough to walk away the winner here. *sigh*.
O- we won’t know how this has gone until the media have been all over it, they’ve done follow up interviews and Tina Fay has done her thing on SNL.
P thinks Palin is so oil-hungry that she can’t even say the word ‘nuclear’ correctly. And there are no “shout-outs” in national debates!
Q is proposing: vote Obama or be defriended. Enough of this stuff. I’m sick of these borrow and spend fascists in the white house.
R is thoroughly impressed by Joe Biden… and can’t wait for Tina Fey to go “nucular” on this week’s SNL.
S believes Gov. Palin was flirting with him the entire time. Don’t believe me? Well, I’ll try to find some examples and get back to ya!
T holy crap. he’s trying not to cry.
U is enjoying dinner & debate… is Sarah Palin for real??? You are not a damn maverick! Neither is John McCain! Stop using that as your answer!
V is curious to meet ‘joe six pack’ and more ‘hockey moms’.
W wonders when blonde jokes are going to be superceded by Palin jokes.
X Palin: “John McCain has tapped me.” [giggling].
Y It’s official: the word Maverick has been said more times in tonight’s debate than it was in all of Top Gun.
Z Palin just winked at the camera. Never mind my previous opinions, she’s now won me over.
1 is agreeing… palin is annoying. dont cha kno.
2 prefers Joe Biden’s heartening stutter to Sarah Palin’s condescending “Aw, Shucks” demeanor.
3 thinks Sarah Palin is George W in a woman’s body.
4 is wondering who did Sarah Palin’s horrible highlights.
5 “I call that the ‘Ultimate Bridge to Nowhere’” omg what a closer for Biden.
6 Biden gets his names backwards a lot. (Like me.) It’s astounding to say, but Palin presents much better.

Overall it’s waaay more negative than post convention. interesting.

I like it all, but “is agreeing… palin is annoying. dont cha kno.” gave me a good chuckle.

I am sure you watched the Presidential Debate last night - hoping to get your thoughts on that. I thought Obama made it easier to endure listening to McCain. (I didn’t make it to the end of the VP debate.)

Hehe, when you got busy posting, I suddenly disappeared… xD
Not your fault, I assure you.

The debate actually made me more interested in Biden. He had a lot more to say substantially. Palin was, definitely, a very good and confident speaker (duh, journalist), but she would usually retreat to catchphrases.

Also, she did not state correctly the actual role of a vice president, and got the name of the Captain in Iraq wrong. That, and, it particularly irks me that she speaks so negatively on “associating with terrorists”. In my opinion, if you went to talk to them and made peace with them, they wouldn’t be terrorists now, would they? It sounded like she had such a closed minded view of the world.

For some reason the one particular moment that struck me was when Palin was going on and on about her “hockey mom” stuff and “raising kids” and all..and Biden replies with a truthful, “I know how it is to raise your kids alone. My wife and kid died and it was hard on my two sons.” I thought that was a very palpable (although sadly truthful) blow.

Making up for my absence with a long comment, hee. x)
